Abstract

Narratological analysis of Israel’s miraculous dry passage through the sea of reeds, present in Ex 14. It focuses on the depiction of the characters within the narrative plot (μῦθος), as already explained in the previous article. The character chosen as the object of this analysis is the very protagonist of the pericope, who is also the protagonist of the whole biblical chronology, that is, the character of God. For this, we will proceed with a brief structural and dynamic analysis of the plot, followed by a study of the narrative elements worthy of emphasis, which underlie the theological conclusions at the end of the article.
