Revelation as event and style Gift, language, and responsibility in a theological dialogue between Jean-Luc Marion and Christoph Theobald
Main Article Content
Abstract
Christian revelation, far from being a mere transmission of doctrine, is configured as an excessive event and a gratuitous gift that challenges both the believing subject and the ecclesial community. This article proposes a dialogue between Jean-Luc Marion and Christoph Theobald, two prominent voices in contemporary theology, to explore revelation in its phenomenological, narrative, and ecclesial dimensions. Through the analysis of the saturated phenomenon, interpretative responsibility, and Christianity as a way of life, a fundamental theology is outlined—one capable of welcoming mystery, narrating meaning, and embodying the Gospel. The study offers a renewed perspective on revelation, in dialogue with the cultural and spiritual challenges of our time.
