Abstract

The words “love” and “moral” are significantly present, formally and informally, in our life. Despite the semantic imprecision of the word “love” and the pejorative view of the word “moral” we believe that, in the Christian experience, there is an intimate connection between them, so that “love” is the foundation and the criterion of “moral”. In this article, we seek to understand how “love” and “moral” are related in the life of Christ’s disciple. We propose to study the subject starting from the First Letter of St. John and making a systematic moral reflection on how these two elements come together in the life of a Christian.
