Two catechumens martyrs
Main Article Content
Abstract
A brief and synthetic historical analysis of the figures of the Saints of Mataró, Saint Juliana and Semproniana allegedly martyred in the fourth century under Diocletians. Its history is characterized by the fact that there has never been any contemporary historical evidence attesting to the truthfulness of these facts, but the tradition is emphasized as the motor force of the processes of veneration and festive institution. Finally, a pastoral calling is made for the adoption, in the parishes, of some of the modes of catechumenate post-baptismal offered and recommended for the formation of the faithful in the faith. This calling finds its basis in the experience of the Saints, who died for having buried their catechist, a sample of the integrality of those who had been truly formed to follow Jesus Christ.
