The Concept of Parish in the 1983 drafts of the Code of Canon Law

Abstract
It analyzes the process of the conceptual formulation of “parish” in drafting the Code of Canon Law promulgated by Pope John Paul II. The discursive formation around the lexeme as a result of stylistic advances, intended to offer clarity to the legal text, overcoming territorial aspects, to the detriment of a definition that enabled the pastoral interests involved, among which were included deacons and laity, partakers of parish administration together with the priest and the bishop.
