Information For Authors
Editorial Policy
The Brasiliensis journal of the Centro de Estudos Redemptoris Mater of Brasília publishes articles, essays, critical notes, and reviews in all areas of philosophy and theology that contribute to the development of these disciplines, maintaining coherence with Catholic faith and morals.
Types of Works
- Article: Academic research around a theme or author.
- Essay: Proposal and defense of an experimental thesis.
- Critical Note: Critique of another author's work.
- Review: Critical summary of a book.
General Guidelines
- Original work that has not been previously published or submitted to another journal. The author commits to not submitting plagiarized texts, nor those copied wholly or partially, duly acknowledging the sources used.
- The Editorial Board will acknowledge receipt of the work and inform the author whether it is admitted or not for evaluation by an external reviewer according to the double-blind method. The Editorial Board will inform the author of the result of this evaluation.
- The author must have an ORCID identification number (https://orcid.org).
- The manuscript must be submitted in the format indicated below in the "Manuscript Format" section.
- Two copies of the work must be sent: one must omit all data that could identify the author.
- The other must include all data and a brief curriculum of the author, indicating at least their last academic degree (at least bachelor's degree), the institution where they work, and their email address.
- Citations and bibliographic references must follow the APA 7th edition standard.
- Writings must be sent by email ([email protected]).
- Languages: works can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, and English.
- Articles, essays, and critical notes must be accompanied by an abstract and between 3 and 6 keywords. The abstract and keywords must be in the language of the writing and in English.
- If the writing is the result of funded work, the funding agency and the project code to which the research belongs must be indicated on the first page of the article.
- Authors will receive two copies of the journal in which their work is published.
Manuscript Format
- Send text in WORD (or another easily editable format). Font Times New Roman, size 12. Line and paragraph spacing of 1.5; double space between pieces, tables, and illustrations. Pages in A4 format with centralized lower numbering. Top and bottom margin of 3 cm; left and right margin of 2.5 cm.
- Paragraphs must be justified and indented 1.25 cm on the first line.
- Direct citation paragraphs must have a left margin of 1.25 cm, double separation before and after, and font size 10.
- The length of the work is as follows:
- Articles, essays, and notes must have a maximum of 10,000 words (including footnotes and bibliographic references)
- Reviews must have a maximum of 3,000 words (excluding footnotes).
- The article title must be in capital letters and centered.
- The 1st level title must be in font 12 and bold; the 2nd level title, in font 12, bold, and italic; the 3rd level title, in font 12 and italic (without bold).
- The abstract must have a maximum of 250 words, with font size 10.
- Keywords must appear after the abstract.
- Footnotes must have a single and continuous numbering, justified margins, and font size 9.
- Bibliographic references must include only the works cited in the work; they must be indented and left-aligned (without justified margins). When appropriate, this section can be divided into a part for "Sources" and another for "Authors".
Rights and License
- Works are published digitally (cerm.org.br) and in print under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license (Creative Commons Attribution - NonCommercial - No Derivatives 4.0 International, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/deed.es).
- The author retains the copyright of their work, allowing others to distribute and share it, provided that the author is credited, the use is non-commercial, and the work is not modified.
