From the Logos to the Eternal Logos The encounter with truth through Edith Stein's theological phenomenology
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present work aims to present a brief study on the phenomenological-theological itinerary of the German philosopher Edith Stein (1891-1942) in her search for the truth. She intends to analyze this itinerary by describing the contact she had with the works of Christian philosophers, such as Augustine of Hippo, Aquinas Thomas and Duns Scotus, without forgetting the study she made of Teresa de Ávila’s experiential testimony in her “Book of Life”. This article analyzes the conclusion reached by Stein through contact with these Christian authors, whom she studied from a phenomenologicaltheological perspective complemented by an Anthropology of Being: Stein finds the alliance between the phenomenological logos and the Eternal Logos. Finally, it is exposed as the investigation that Stein did searching for the truth in the philosophical way, concluded in the encounter with the original Truth of the Christian God, as a Transcendent Being that through divine grace reaches the human being.
